Despite the sluggish Thai economy, rising prices and reduced consumer spending, Shopee and Lazada's revenues have increased significantly, highlighting the strong development momentum of the e-commerce industry.

According to Creden data, the two platforms will have a combined revenue of 78.255 billion baht in 2024, with profits close to 5.467 billion baht.
Among them, Shopee's revenue reached 49.964 billion baht and its profit was 4.630 billion baht, setting a record for its best business performance in Thailand; Lazada achieved revenue of 28.291 billion baht and a profit of over 836 million baht, showing good cost control and operational efficiency.
This outstanding performance is in sharp contrast to Thailand's overall economic weakness. Thailand is currently facing challenges such as sluggish consumer demand, stagnant wages, rising living costs and weak export recovery.

However, the e-commerce industry has grown against the trend. According to data from the Electronic Transaction Development Authority of Thailand (ETDA), the value of Thailand's e-commerce market is expected to exceed 600 billion baht in 2024. More and more consumers are choosing to buy daily necessities online, ranging from groceries to clothing to electronic products, showing the continued expansion of the e-commerce ecosystem and its market potential.
