Shopee’s MY-SG Bulky Delivery Service: A Complete Guide for Malaysian Sellers
Erra 13 May 2025 02:57EN
Shopee has launched a special delivery service specifically for big and heavy items that Malaysian sellers can use to send products directly to customers in Singapore. This guide covers everything you need to know, from eligibility to packing and delivery processes.
What is Shopee’s MY-SG Bulky Delivery Service?
Shopee’s MY-SG Bulky Delivery Service is a shipping solution designed specifically for Malaysian sellers who are part of the MY-SG Direct Programme. It helps these sellers send large or heavy items to customers in Singapore, without having to manage the complicated logistics themselves.
Here's a breakdown of what the service offers:
-
Simplified Cross-Border Logistics: Shopee takes care of everything, from picking up the item at your location in Malaysia to delivering it to the buyer in Singapore.
-
Real-Time Visibility: Both you and your buyer can track the parcel in real time via Shopee's system. Want even more control? You can manage and track Shopee orders from multiple stores in one dashboard using a third-party tool like BigSeller, perfect for sellers with growing cross-border operations.
-
Shorter Lead Times: Delivery is faster than typical large-item shipping, with arrival guaranteed within 11 calendar days.
-
Damage Compensation: If your item is lost or damaged due to the 3PL's fault, you can get compensated up to S$500, as long as you followed Shopee’s packaging rules.
-
Dedicated Support: The 3PL will coordinate with both you and the buyer via WhatsApp or phone call to arrange pickups and deliveries.
However, this service is not yet available to everyone. Shopee is gradually rolling it out, starting with selected sellers.
Who Qualifies for Shopee’s MY-SG Bulky Delivery Service?
Here’s what you must meet:
1. You must be part of the Shopee’s MY-SG Direct Programme
2. Your product must be bulky enough
Only large or heavy items can use this service. Specifically:
-
The product weighs more than 30KG (either actual or volumetric weight)
-
But it still must stay within these limits:
-
Max weight: 500KG
-
Max total size (L + W + H): 600 cm
-
No single side can be longer than 400 cm
-
This ensures the item is big enough to be considered "bulky" but still manageable for delivery.
3. You cannot use bulky delivery for items that spoil easily, such as:
-
Fresh produce
-
Chilled or frozen goods
-
Perishable items
This is because bulky delivery may take several days, and temperature control is not guaranteed.
Only products that meet all these requirements will be marked as eligible for bulky delivery. So even if you have just a few qualifying items, you can still join the service, and it will only apply to those specific items in your shop.
